The Games Initiative is a London based company providing unique games night experiences. Ones that can be personalised to you and your friends. We specialise in tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs), as well as other social party games and board games.

Looking for an unforgettable birthday party? A unique stag or hen do? Or a way to ease your way back into roleplaying games after a long break? Alternatively, you may have always been curious about one of the games offered and want to give it a go (without having to swallow a rule book!). Whatever you are looking for, or the event that you’re planning, The Games Initiative can make it one that you’ll never forget.

TTRPGs are games in which the players work together to tell a collaborative story. One in which players’ actions have both meaning and consequences. it gives a safe environment within which to explore creative decision making and problem solving. The leader of the game (known as the game master, the role played by The Games Initiative) prepares the setting; be that a high fantasy world of monsters and heroes, a gritty take on the classic space opera, or anything in-between. They also implement and adjudicate the rules, creating the structure within which the game is played. They will set the scene and create unique and interesting challenges for the players to solve.

A typical TTRPG session will depend on whether it is a one-off, or part of an on-going campaign. One-off sessions will typically last 4-5 hours, with that time split between:

• Set-up/rules explanation (~30 mins)

• Session itself (~4 hours)

• Post game debrief/discussion (~30 mins)

Sessions that form part of an on-going campaign will typically be shorter in length, typically 2-4 hours, as they will just involve the session itself.

What are the games offered? TGI recommends the following, but many other games are potentially available and feasibility can be discussed upon request:

• Dungeons and Dragons 5e (TTRPG)

• Pathfinder 2e (TTRPG)

• Starfinder (TTRPG)

• Werewolf (social/party game)

• Mafia (social/party game)

• Gloomhaven (board game)

Sessions can take place in-person (within the Greater London area, either at your home, or a venue arranged by TGI) or online. Allowing you to bring together your group even if they are split up across continents.

No prior experience with any of the games is required, The Games Initiative will ensure the games are catered to all experience levels.
